Objective

Students know the meaning of geographic information systems and their uses.
Students are able to produce spatial data by gathering material from different sources.
Students are able to use geographic information systems for various analyses and as visualization tools.
Students learn about various geospatial applications for rural sectors.
Students are able to update spatial data and analyze it.

Content

Different types of maps for describing spatial data
Coordinate systems
Satellite network as basis for systems

Trackers as location indicators
Geographic information systems and their use
Spatial data analyzes from existing data

Qualifications

Sufficient ability of using the Internet and computer programs. Basic use of Excel is a key skill in this study.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

o Course passed
Active participation
The chosen exercises have been completed within the set time limit and according to the correct principles.
