Objective
The student knows the history of midwifery as well as the key legislation, instructions and professional norms and follows them in his/her work. The student can follow national and international midwifery and strive to develop it. He/she knows the support and service systems available for the promotion of sexual and reproductive health and co-operates with individuals, families and communities to promote sexual and reproductive health. The student knows his/her responsibilities as a midwife and is able to make decisions independently and share his/her expertise.

The students master the theoretical and clinical skills that are part of vocational studies in customer-oriented nursing that promotes health and functional ability in the Degree Programme in Nursing.

The student demonstrates knowledge of the history, purpose and societal significance of midwifery. He/she understands the independence and responsibility involved in midwifery. He/she follows the ethical values of midwifery. The student is able to reflect upon his/her self-knowledge, professional identity and collegiality.
