Objective

The students understand the connections of the societal, communal and individual level with crises, mental health, wellbeing and crime. They know how service systems operate and can face and support customers in a family-based manner.
The students recognize the significance of different crises and crisis situations and the means of their psychosocial treatment, especially the solution of crisis work.

Content

The course has two offerings:
a) Social pedagogial work oriented
b) sociocultural and social counselling oriented.
Psychosocial services in mental health rehabilitation, and support and interventions in life’s crises.
Basics of psychosocial crisis work: traumatic crises, life and development crises, family violence, and acute substance abuse, crime victim, and mental health clients and work with them
Contents of the course: answering to the individual support needs of children, youth and families with a multiprofessional work method.

Qualifications

The students have basic knowledge and skills in early childhood education and social pedagogical work or basics of sociocultural work and social counselling
