Objective

The students recognise the individual needs of chidren, youth and families as the starting points of preventive and rehabilitative work. The students learn to know how to plan, implement and assess various working methods in cooperation with the work community when working with children, youth and families. The students will also learn to apply and assess their own theory of use in child welfare and family work.

Content

Supervised practical training in non-institutional or in institutional child welfare /family work settings in various operative environments. Guiding, assessing and supporting children, youth and families from the viewpoint of socio-pedagogical and rehabilitative work.

Qualifications

The students know professional and ethical principles of child welfare and family work. They are bale to apply the working methods of child welfare and family work both in non-institutional and in institutional child welfare settings, and with a child-centred and family-based orientation.
