Objective
The student can assess the health and functional capability of customers with national diseases, and their needs for treatment and rehabilitation. The student can make clinical decisions as an expert in care work by utilising various decision-making supports, service selections and information systems together with the customer and a multi-professional team. The student can apply evidence-based methods of assistance and evaluate their effectiveness. The student is capable of acting as a clinical expert in the planning and development of the prevention and treatment of national diseases.

- Health benefit model in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases
- Self-care support, effective customer guidance methods and the health and treatment plan
- Medical science, pharmacology and medicinal care related to national diseases

The learning outcomes of individual courses are assessed in relation to the objectives of the course concerned. The student can treat patients with essential national diseases in urgent situations, and carry the responsibility for the follow-up and assessment of the treatment and the guidance of self-care in chronic cases, in accordance with care recommendations and principles. The student can assess the practices of treating national diseases and, within the framework of the health benefit model, develop them towards an evidence-based approach utilising a variety of information sources.
Good 3
The student can treat patients with essential national diseases in urgent situations, and carry the responsibility for the follow-up and assessment of the treatment and the guidance of effective self-care in chronic cases, in accordance with care recommendations and principles. The student can critically assess the practices of the treatment of national diseases and develop them towards an evidence-based approach by utilising the health benefit model, various information sources and multidisciplinary evidence from a variety of perspectives.
Very Good 4 – Excellent 5
The student has mastered the treatment of patients with essential national diseases in urgent situations, as well as the follow-up and assessment of the treatment and self-care guidance in chronic cases, in accordance with care recommendations and principles. The student can critically assess and compare the practices of the treatment of national diseases and develop them towards an evidence-based approach utilising the health benefit model, various information sources and multidisciplinary evidence in a diverse manner and with justifications.
