Objective

The students identify the factors affecting the performance of the assets in different types of production plants during the life cycle of assets and can take these factors into account when making decisions. The students identify the potential of the Systems Engineering approach in the system design and reliability requirement management. The students master the basics of the life cycle calculations and their utilization in investment projects. They understand the connections between maintenance strategies and economy. The students can take into account the cost factors during the life cycle and can analyze and develop the operations based on them. The students identify the change management methods in the development of the life cycle management

Content

Asset management.
Life cycle cost and life cycle profit (LCC, LCP). The basics of investment calculations. Reliability centered life cycle management methods (Systems Engineering). Reliability requirements. Change management

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Very good (4-5): The student masters the essential knowledge and skills required to get the grade Good (3) and can apply the knowledge in a critical and innovative manner when solving a development problem. The student can also apply the methods related to change management to his/her working environment.

Good (3): The student masters in addition to the basic knowledge and skills mentioned below also the following and is able to apply the knowledge acquired:
- Utilization of the asset management methods
- Utilization of the reliability analysis in the life cycle analysis
- Utilization of the System Engineering-type design methods in the investment stage.

Satisfactory (1-2): The student masters the basic knowledge and skills covered by the course.

- Connections of the maintenance strategies to the life cycle management
