Objective
In the course you will revise the basics of Swedish. The course will help you pass your compulsory Swedish studies.
After completing this course, you will be able to communicate understandably in Swedish in familiar situations, both orally and in writing. You will gain command of basic vocabulary and grammar and know how to apply them in different communication situations. You will understand Swedish texts that are related to familiar topics. You will be able to write and talk about everyday topics.
Content
You will study themes related to free time and working life. You will revise the basic structures and vocabulary of Swedish and practice using them in oral and written communication. You will read and write texts in Swedish related to free time and working life and practice oral communication in everyday situations.

Teaching methods
This is a distance learning course in Moodle -environment.
The course starts on January 16th and ends on April 30th 2023.
In distance learning implementation you will study independently in an online learning environment. You will receive feedback on your learning assignments from the teacher.
Assignments on the course are divided into 5 sections. You have approximately 3 weeks time to do the assignments of every section. After every section there is a short exam.

There is a short exam in the course´s Moodle environment after every section of the course.
Retakes: Contact the teacher. The teacher will provide you with alternative dates for the retake.
Retakes must be performed during the year 2023.

Student workload
The course is 5 ECTS credits which is equivalent to 135 hours of student work.
Face-to-face learning:
40-50 hours of lectures.
60-70 hours for learning assignments, preparing for lectures and familiarization with the learning material
5-10 hours for preparation for the exams
Distance learning:
0-10 hours of online lectures
80-90 hours for learning assignments, online exercises and familiarization with the learning material and online-tools.
5-10 hours for preparation for the exams
Face-to-face and distance learning:
10-25 hours of lectures
90-100 hours for learning assignments, online exercises, preparing for lectures and familiarization with the learning material and online-tools.

Approved
You are able to communicate understandably both orally and in writing in familiar situations. You understand clear speech and writing with familiar content. You have a reasonable command of the basic structures of the language. Your vocabulary is sufficient for everyday situations. The level of your pronunciation is sufficient for the delivery of content.
Failed
Your performance does not meet the criteria for passing the course.
Qualifications
You know the basics of Swedish, but your language skills are below Level B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR, https://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/sites/default/files/cefr-en.pdf).
