Objectives
The student is able to analyse the past performance of the company and knows the basic concepts of company value. He or she is able to use this information in decision making situations when acting in different roles in the company’s interest groups and is able to draw conclusion on the company’s operations and financial position. The student knows the limits and possibilities of financial analysis and forecasts in the development of the company’s operations.
Content
The course contents include interpretation of financial reports, editing and analysing financial statements, key ratios and their interpretation, analysis based on cash flows, basics of investor analysis and company value appraisement.

Evaluation criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
1 (Fair): The student is aware of the basic concepts of financial analysis and is able to calculate the most common key ratios. He or she is able to calculate some ratios depicting the financial standing and to evaluate the company in some respect. The student knows the principles of cash flow statement and can draw up one almost without mistakes when tutored.
2 (Satisfactory): The student is aware of the basic concepts of financial analysis and is able to calculate the most common key ratios. He or she is able to calculate some ratios depicting the financial standing and success of the company. The student knows the principles of cash flow statement and can draw up one when tutored.

3 (Good): The student masters the skills and techniques needed in financial analysis and is able to analyse the financial standing of the company on major parts. The student knows the basics of cash flow statement and can draw up one almost without mistakes. He or she recognizes some of the limitations of analysis and knows how to communicate the results.
4 (Very Good): The student masters the skills and techniques needed in financial analysis and is able to analyse and interpret the success and financial standing of the company on the basis of calculated ratios almost without mistakes. The student can draw up cash flow statement almost without mistakes and understands the limitations of analysis and knows how to communicate the results in a versatile way.

5 (Excellent): The student masters the skills and techniques needed in financial analysis and is able to analyse and interpret the success and financial standing of the company on the basis of calculated ratios and cash flow analysis. The student understands the limitations of analysis and knows how to communicate the results in a versatile and understandable way.
