Objective

Purpose of the course
After completing this course, you will understand the importance of physical accessibility and identify methods to assess accessibility. You understand how accessibility of the work and work environment in tourism can be improved.
 
Learning outcomes in the course
You will recognize different methods of assessing accessibility in physical environment and are able work in a multidisciplinary team of experts in developing accessible tourism. You will be able to evaluate and document the usability and accessibility of your operating environments by using, where applicable, the ESKEH Mapping Method. You understand how to improve the accessibility of the work and operational environment in tourism.
You are aware of the challenges of the operating environment from the perspective of different customer groups and are able to promote accessibility and highlight development needs. You are familiar with some technological solutions that can affect the availability and functionality of your operating environment.
You will know the means and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote the results of the assessment work and the necessary modifications in your work and operational environment.

Content

Impact of different work and operational environments on the functionality and involvement of customer groups, accessibility, accessibility and usability of different operating environments, assessment of accessibility of tourism work and operating environment, technological solutions affecting the accessibility and functionality of the operating environment.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The evaluation decision is made on a scale: pass / fail. The course is successfully passed if the student demonstrates understanding of 1) the importance of physical accessibility and recognizes accessibility assessment methods 2) how to improve the accessibility of working and working environment in tourism.
