Objective

The student knows different communities and understands the role of communities facilitating or inhibiting occupational engagement. He/she is able to facilitate accessible and adaptable environments and to promote occupational justice. The student can collaborate with communities to promote the health and well-being for their members through their participation in occupation.

The student understands how environment can affect well-being through occupations. He/she understands the principles of community centered work and cultural impact on the occupations, persons and occupational performance. He/she can actively seek, critically evaluate and apply a range of information and evidence to ensure that practice is up-to-date and relevant to the client.

The student has studied either the Housing Enabler (the home accessibility assessment method) or the PAGS (the Play Assessment in Group Settings) assessment method and is able to use the method. The student is familiar with the theoretical basis for the method and the related research.
