    Learning outcomes of the course
    • to understand and recognize the dimensions of domestic violence, and to have the abilities to bring up domestic violence when meeting patients and families
    • to know the national recommendations and suggestions as well as the legislation to prevent and reduce domestic violence, and also to be able to apply these pieces of knowledge in one´s own work
    • to understand the importance of prevention of domestic violence and to be able to support a patient and family when promoting their health
    • to be able to use empowerment guidance and counseling with the patients and families, that have encountered domestic violence

    • Domestic violence as a phenomenon, recognizing it, bringing it up and empowerment counseling/ guidance discussion
    • Recommendations, instructions, legislation and the service system

    Assessment criteria, passed/failed
    Pass:
    • To prove to understand the dimensions of domestic violence and recognizing them
    • Is able to bring up violence when meeting patients and families
    • To be able to apply the national recommendations and suggestions, as well as legislation in one’s own profession to prevent and reduce domestic violence
    • To prove to understand the importance of preventive work in preventing domestic violence
    • To be able to apply empowerment counseling and support the patient and family when promoting their health
