Objectives

The purpose of the course:

Commonly has been recognized that the world is nowadays increasingly VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity). Changing operational environment is also challenging logistics as a function and things must be done in a different way to generate the expected value. During the course you will understand the role of logistics as a "builder" of future competitiveness and you will realize what have to be taken into account to enable success also in the future.

Further information for students

Opintojakson arviointi pohjautuu oppimistavoitteista johdettuihin arviointikriteereihin. Osaaminen osoitetaan oppimistehtävissä, joita on opintojaksolla kaksi.
Molemmat oppimistehtävät on suoritettava hyväksytysti ja ne arvioidaan asteikolla (0-5). Opintojakson kokonaisarvosana muodostuu oppimistehtävien arvosanojen keskiarvosta.

Myöhässä palautetun oppimistehtävän maksimiarvosana on 80% alkuperäisestä. Läsnäolo kontaktipäivillä on pakollinen - mahdollinen poissaolo korvataan erillisellä lisätehtävällä.

Satisfactory 2: Student understands how and why logistics as a function will develop in the future. Student recognizes new technologies, their possibilities and how to apply them into practice both on general level and own organisation's level.

Evaluation criteria, good (3-4)

Good 3: Student understands how and why logistics as a function will develop in the future. Student recognizes the changes and demands of logistics and understands how those will influence to their own organisation. Student recognizes new technologies, their possibilities and how to apply them into practice both on general level and own organisation's level.

Very good 4: Student understands how and why logistics as a function will develop in the future. Student recognizes the changes and demands of logistics, understands how those will influence to their own organisation and is able to give some recommendations. Student recognizes new technologies, their possibilities and how to apply them into practice both on general level and own organisation's level.

Evaluation criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent 5: Student understands how and why logistics as a function will develop in the future. Student recognizes the changes and demands of logistics, understands how those will influence to their own organisation and is able to give some recommendations. Student recognizes new technologies, their possibilities and how to apply them into practice both on general level and own organisation's level. Students understands how to build competitiveness by logistics.
