The eLearning environment is modular:
M1: Determinants of health and Inequality in terms of health promotion (1/3 of the course)
M2: Models of intervention planning and evaluation (2/3 of the course)

Objective

The purpose of the course is to increase understanding of the principles of health promotion. In addition, it is intended that participants will understand meaning of systematic planning and evaluation for population level health promotion actions, as well as the importance as part of the health promotion activities of public, private and non-governmental organizations.

Teaching methods

The start-up on Sat 27.8.2022 at 10-14.30 is contact teaching on campus, after that on-line course. Moodle as an online learning platform. Webinars at Zoom.
This course includes the start-up on campus, webinars and guided independent studying.
Webinars: pre-assignments, group work, peer discussion, lectures. Partly flipped learning.
Independent study contain: learning materials, learning assignmets and written learning assignment (individual) and presentation (PechaKucha), written self-assessment.

International connections

Part of learning materials are in English.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient 1
The student identifies health promotion models and approaches to individuals, communities and organizations in health promotion coordination, planning and evaluation.

Satisfactory 2
The student is able to describe the health promotion models and approaches to individuals, communities, organizations and local authorities in the development of health promotion, coordination, planning and evaluation. The student identifies contents of health promotion expertise.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3
The student is able to apply the key health promotion models and approaches to individuals, communities, organizations and local authorities in the development of health promotion, coordination, planning and evaluation. The student is able to evaluate her/his own health promotion expertise, and its development as well.

Very good 4
The student is able to apply critical health promotion models and approaches to individuals, communities, organizations and municipalities in the development of health promotion, coordination, planning and evaluation. The student is able to combine different sources of information-derived information. The student is able to evaluate critically material of health promotion strategies, planning and evaluation. The student is also able to evaluate critically her/his own health promotion expertise, and its development.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent 5
The student is able to apply health promotion models and approaches creatively and based on research knowledge in the development, coordination, planning and evaluation of health promotion activies to individuals, communities, organizations and municipalities. The student is able to develop creatively her or his own health promotion expertise.

The grade of the course consists of the written learning assignment (will be assessed on a scale of 0-5). Other assignments will be assessed approved/complement (approved assessment required).
