Objectives

This course aims to develop your proactive development and internationality competences.

You make a personal learning plan to identify your target competences for professional development and pursue their development throughout the studies. You make a portfolio to assess your professional development in your target competences. If you identify any gaps between the targeted and achieved competences, you make the plan to bridge the difference. Finally, you develop your business writing skills in English by participating in the 3 ECTS "business writing in English" part of the course.

Teaching methods

Blended model.

Face-to-face learning: Orientation day and tutoring sessions.
Virtual learning: Personal learning plan assignment, portfolio assignment.

Exam dates and retake possibilities

Orientation takes place on the orientation day in the first semester.
Personal learning plan is made in the first period of the first semester.
Portfolio is prepared in the last semester before graduation.

Alternative completion methods

You have the right to apply for recognition of your studies if you have prior learning (e.g. university studies completed elsewhere) that can be accredited towards the degree you are currently completing.

The recognition of prior learning is possible in three primary ways: accreditation (replacement or inclusion), recognition of informal learning and studification. More precise info: JAMK Degree Regulations, section 17.

Pass: You participate in the orientation programme and make your personal learning plan. You are aware of your career development needs and competences to develop. You successfully complete tasks related to business writing in English. You are able to develop your target competences throughout the studies and provide evidences of the development in a portfolio.
