Purpose of the course
This course helps you keep your focus on the student when you design a course for the digital environment. You will use the learning process as a tool for designing the core of a course – and for navigating through a myriad of possibilities in the digital environment to help your students reach their learning goals. You will also explore the roles of guidance and being present in creating a good learning experience in the digital environment.
You will work in a group consisting of teacher students from JAMK and Masaryk University (www.muni.cz/en), Brno, the Czech Republic. This gives you a chance to experience collaboration between two educational contexts.
The course activities include a micro-project that is done in groups during the online sessions, orientating tasks before the online sessions and one larger learning task that is done individually. The medium of instruction is English. No long written assignments are required and the largest individual task can be done either in Czech, English or Finnish. The course is co-taught by teacher educators from JAMK and Masaryk University (Jarmila Bradova).
