    Learning outcomes of the course
    Purpose:
    Understanding the role of different transportation modes in Global transportation chain is a basic knowledge of logistics engineer. In this course you will understand the purpose of rail-, road, air- and sea transportation as part of the Global supply chain and acknowledging the requirements of sustainable development. As a result of this course you will get knowledge of the operation environment and utilization possibilities of the main regulations, especially from the service user’s viewpoint

    Learning outcomes:
    You will recognize different transportation modes and technologies in field of road, rail, air, seaborne and combined transportation. You will gain understanding of theory and key aspects of different transportation modes. You will understand the role of transportation modes in companies’ logistics operations.

    Requirements of sustainable transportation, Road transportation, Rail transportation (including combined transport), Sea transportation
    Air transport and new modes of transportation

    The student achieves all the topics described in the course objectives and is able to identify technical solutions that influence transportation modes selection

    The student achieves all the topics described in the course objectives and understands business and financial aspects at transportation modes comparison,

    Very good 4:
    The student achieves all the subjects described in the course objectives and is able to use well-established methods of analysis in decision-making. Ability to communicate effectively information, ideas, problems and solutions with the engineering community

    Excellent 5:
    The student achieves the above assessment criteria and is able to analytically self asses the development of his / her own competence during the course.
