Objective

The object of the course
After completing this course, you will understand what a modern HRM is in contents and how it contributes to the success of enterprises and organisations. You will learn the sub-processes across the different stages of employer-employee relationship. You are familiar with the employer’s legal liabilities rising from international and national legislation and you know how to promote ethical conduct and non-discrimination at workplace.

Course competences
Ethics Competence: You take responsibility for your own actions and their consequences and reflect on them in accordance with ethical principles and values. You promote equality and non-discrimination. You understand the principles of responsible conduct of research and adhere to them.

Internationality and multiculturalism Competence: You monitor global trends in your field. You operate effectively in international and multicultural work environments.

Sustainable global business management Competence: You critically review and understand core concepts of global business management and sustainability from multidisciplinary perspectives of marketing, sales, strategy, finance, and management. You apply disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge to analyze global business challenges and propose sustainable business solutions to grow new ventures in global markets.

The learning objectives of the course
Upon completion of the course, you recognize the liability of equal treatment of people and legal obligations of employment relationships. You are familiar with the process of human resource management, and you know how to overcome possible conflicts and protect and promote a good employer-employee relationship at work. You show some justified and innovative solutions for managerial problems and use of business intelligence.

HRM´s role in strategy, job analysis, workforce planning and recruitment, performance evaluation and management, development and training, compensation, legal and ethical aspects in HRM, occupational health and safety, HRM and emerging technologies, international HRM and careers, future trends for HRM. Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient 1
You can recognize and find some very basic ESR-related issues and its ap-plications in HR. You attempt to participate in inter- and multicultural setting and teamwork.
You attempt to analyze and use academic, and business information justification relevant to HRM. You recognize some business challenges and trends in HRM and in HRM action.

Satisfactory 2
You are familiar with some key concepts and terms related to ESR and its applications in HRM. You can participate in inter- and multicultural setting and teamwork.
You are aware of equal treatment of people and attempt to address dis-crimination in HRM practice. You find some solutions for managerial problems related to HRM.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3
You know the key concepts and terms related to ESR and its applications in HRM. You contribute in inter- and multicultural setting and teamwork.
You understand the legal liability of equal treatment of people and you know how to avoid disputes related to discrimination in HRM practice. You can propose justified solutions for managerial problems related to HRM and international business.
Very Good 4
You know the key concepts and terms and can propose solutions into typical legal and business problems of HRM taking ESR-issues into account. You promote equal treatment of people in your actions and in business and you can contribute to international teamwork by with argumentation. You use justified and innovative solutions for managerial problems and utilise business intelligence to enhance employee engagement and value of your business.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent 5
You master the key concepts and terms and can solve typical legal and business problems of HRM taking ESR-issues into account. You promote equal treatment of people in your actions and in business and you contribute to international teamwork by with argumentation taking multiple perspectives into account. You use justified and innovative solutions for international HRM problems and utilise business intelligence to enhance employee engagement and the future of your business.
