Objective

You can act appropriately and ethically in various workplace interaction and communication situations according to your language level. You can communicate in international and multicultural environment. You can develop your own language and communication skills in a purposeful manner in accordance with the principles of lifelong learning.  You understand the significance of language and communication skills in the work community and as a part of your professional competence.

Prerequisites

Level B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in English and level B1 in Swedish.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degrees 9-16 cr

- English at Work course is mandatory for everyone.

- Swedish/Finnish studies are determined by the language of the student’s school education. If the student's language of education (or mother tongue) is Finnish, the student completes Swedish studies (compulsory course ‘Työelämän ruotsi’, Swedish for Working Life). If the student carried out their school education in Swedish, they complete their studies in Finnish (compulsory course ‘Työelämän viestintä’, Working Life Communication). If the student's language of education is other than Finnish or Swedish, the student completes studies in Finnish as a second language (compulsory courses Finnish 1 and Finnish 2 for Business/Nursing/Technology).

- Thesis Writing course is mandatory for everyone.

Master's degrees 3 cr

- Research Writing course is mandatory for everyone.
