Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The general assessment criteria for the skills and knowledge of a Hospitality Management degree can be found on the website (http://jamk.fi/opiskelijoille/opinto-opas). The learning outcomes of the course are assessed in relation to the learning objectives of each course, based on the knowledge, skills and general competencies (National and European Qualifications Framework, level 6).

Sufficient 1
The student can identify those working in the supportive processes of accommodation. He knows some of the international operators and understands the field of studies, but is not able apply his knowledge in assignments. His participation in a group work is minimal.

Satisfactory 2
- Student is able to master the field theoretically and practically in satisfactory manner. The student knows the field but his ability to apply theory into real life situations is satisfactory. His participation in a group work is active but he needs guidance in assignments.

Good 3
In addition to the core skills required for grades 1– 2, the student masters the issues described below and is able to apply what he or she has learned:
- The student masters the field well both theoretically and practically. He is able to apply sufficiently theory in real life situations. His participation in a group work is active. Student needs some guidance in assignments.

Very good 4
- The student masters the field excellently both theoretically and practically. He is able to apply theory in the real life situations and his ideas are realizable. His participation in a group work is active and he is able share his know-how with the group. He carries the assignments out independently.

Excellent 5
In addition to the core skills required for the grades (good)–4 (very good), the student masters the issues described below and is able to apply what he or she has learned:
- The student masters the field excellently both theoretically and practically. He is able to apply theory in real life situations and has a developing manner. The student is able analyze facility management in accommodation business and develop innovative solutions in order to solve the challenges in the field. He participates the group work actively and carries his own theoretical and practical knowhow to the group. He carries the assignments out very independently.
