Content
The course comprises design, implementation, and testing of a computer game in a group including project documentation.
Materials
Online learning material
Completion alternatives
Group work consists of a project plan, design documentation, the actual computer game, a seminar presentation, and a post-mortem / final report. The individual evaluation is also based on a learning report/log including self-assessment 100%.
Student workload
- lectures 50 h - exercises 50 h - project assignments 170 h
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Excellent 5: The student carries out the project work with self-determination and efficiency and shows initiative in presenting new ideas in the completed implementation. The student provides detailed and high-quality documentation about game design and implementation. The game project plan is feasible including a schedule and workload estimates. The final presentation is professional and shares best practices.
Very good 4: The student has fulfilled her/his role in the game development group. The implemented game prototype is designed with care and documented and implemented very well. The presentation shows all the required elements from design to implementation.
Good 3: The student provides sufficient game project documentation and implementation. The presentation given on the assignment is good.
Satisfactory 2: The student can design and implement a game prototype in a game development group. The required documentation is brief, and the assignment has been presented in a seminar.
Sufficient 1: The student participates in the design and implementation of a simple computer game prototype.
Fail 0: The student does not meet the minimum criteria set for the course.
