Objective

The student is able to plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care of the most common mental health disorders, addiction problems and crisis with the support of nursing team. Student is able to apply evidence-based mental health, addiction and crises nursing methods under the supervision. Student is able to use the interventions based on a cooperative relationship with a patient and family. Student is able to work as a member of a multiprofessional team. Student understands the importance of ethical principles and patient safety. Student is able to document the nursing care in accordance to the legislation.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Criteria for the passed professional practice:

The student:
-is able to comply with the ethical principles and patient safety of the practice placement.
-has transferable skills to plan, implement and evaluate the nursing process of the most common mental health disorders, addiction problems and crisis with multiprofessional treatment team. The student works in a client-centered way and S/he is able to face, councel and help a patient and the whole family within mental health-, addiction- and crisis nursing field under supervision.
-is able to apply the knowledge about treatment- and service chains and psychological continuity of treatment. S/he is able to implement empowering and goal-orientated nursing under the supervision and understands the importance of evidence-based nursing.
-is able to communicate orally and to use health care documentation system as legislation requires.
-is able to implement safety medical treatment under supervision
-obeys the rules of work community, and is able to work entrepreneurially and co-operatively.
-is able to name his/her own developmental needs and evaluates own actions critically.
