Objective
The students know the basics of the power electronics used in converters, e.g. structures and operating principles of commutated rectifiers and inverters. They know the components and devices of electric drives. They are able to size the components of constant and variable speed drives for various applications, such as pumps, blowers, conveyors and lines. They are familiar with the bus solutions used in the control. They know the most common protection and control methods. They are able to parameterise and set up electric drive devices and equipment. They know the latest techniques used in electric drives and are able to follow the development in this field.
TSASV – Competence in electric power systems
The student has the knowledge of electric motor drives.
The student is able to size components for constant speed and adjustable motor drives.
