Objective
The student understands the meaning of media for children and young people's everyday lives. She/he knows the key concepts and principles of media education. The student has a basic knowledge of the different forms of media and the opportunities it offers to support children and young people's growth, development and learning. Students will be able to support parents in media education. She/he understands the special needs of the child or young person's chances to use information technology for the supporting development and rehabilitation. Students are motivated to develop and use the potential of ICT to working with children and young people.

Excellent (5): The student understands the meaning and role of media for children and young people's everyday lives in very good way. She/he knows the key concepts and principles of media education. The student has a basic knowledge of the different forms of media and the opportunities it offers and utilize to support children and young people's growth, development and learning. In written assignments, he/she shows excellent capabilities to describe the subjects of the course and to consider them critically. The student follows the reporting instructions of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences.
Very good (4): The student understands the meaning of media for children and young people's everyday lives in very good way. She/he knows the key concepts and principles of media education. The student has a basic knowledge of the different forms of media and the opportunities it offers to support children and young people's growth, development and learning. In written assignments, he/she shows excellent capabilities to describe the subjects of the course and to consider them critically. The student follows the reporting instructions of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences.
