Objective
The students understand the background and role of youth culture as the creator of identity. The students are aware of the significance of peer groups and media culture in the identity work, interaction and daily life of the youth. The Students know tasks, forms and methods of youth work.
Content
Youth life styles and various cultures, sub- and countercultures, media culture, social media, mobile phone culturu. Basics, practices and methods of youth work and principles of youth information.

excellent (5): Student knows youth life styles and various cultures. He/she understands the role and meaning of media culture and social media for the identity work and interaction. Student knows well the basics, practices and methods of youth work. In written assignments, they show ability to describe and justify the phenomena of the topic critically through their own thinking and by exploiting sources properly and in a versatile manner. The students follow the instructions of JUAS for written assignments.
good (3-4): Student knows youth life styles and various cultures. He/she understands the role of media culture and social media for the identity work and interaction. Student knows the basics, practices and methods of youth work. In written assignments, they show ability to describe and justify the phenomena of the topic critically through their own thinking and by exploiting sources properly and in a versatile manner. The students follow the instructions of JUAS for written assignments.
satisfactory (1-2): Student knows partly youth life styles and various cultures. He/she understands the role of media culture and social media in youth. Student knows the basics and practices of youth work. In written assignments, they describe the phenomena of the topic without justifying them and using only some source material (i.e. one book and one web source). The students partially follow the instructions of JUAS for written assignments.
Fall (0): The student does not achieve the objectives and the competences of the course. Written tasks are not completed.
