Objective

Students are able to realistically assess the profitability of their business ideas, as well as their own capacity to implement them. To assess the profitability the student should be able to draw up a preliminary business plan, the necessary calculations, and a sales and / or marketing plan.
EUR-ACE Transferable Skills: function effectively as an individual and as a member of a team.

Content

Business plan, market analysis, competitor analysis, pricing, marketing and sales plan, profitability calculations, cash flow statement, funding.

Materials

The material will be defined at the beginning of the course in according to the needs of students´ goals for learning.

Completion alternatives

Assessment is carried out on the basis of learning tasks and self-assessment that takes place between teaching appointments. Students must be present in workshops at least six of eight times or the workshops must be replaced by the equivalent amount of team / personal coaching.

Pass / fail
The assessment will be done in relation to the learning outcomes.

Qualifications

Students have a business idea on which they will be working during coaching.

Students are admitted to the JAMK Pre-Incubator by their applications.

Further information

The scope of the 1st phase of Pre-Incubator training is 5 ECTS credits. After this, students have the option to continue the development of their business ideas in the 2nd phase of Pre-Incubator training or in the actual JAMK Business Incubator, if the Pre-Incubator training leads to starting their own business. Phase 1: Baseline mapping and objectives of the participant, preparation of a learning plan, 8 x 3 hour workshops, and learning tasks specific to the business idea + person / team based coaching, as necessary. Student can also choose second phase (5-10 credits), shich will be tailored with a student according to his needs.After the Pre-Incubator’s first phase students will have the opportunity to: 1) Set up a business (students will have the opportunity to continue the development of their business in the JAMK Business Incubator); 2) Develop further the business idea (students will have the opportunity to continue in the Pre-Incubator’s 2nd phase); 3) Abandon the business idea (students will have the opportunity to continue in the Pre-Incubator with a new idea).
