Objective

The student is able to use and apply information and communication technology in the student’s work. The students master the most common computer software tools beyond the basics and are able to put their skills into practise in entrepreneurship. The student knows the structure of computers and understands the significance of the computer’s different devices. The student understands the significance of information security and knows the most central factors that keep information secure. The student masters information retrieval with regard to solving computing problems. The student understands the significance of copyrights when producing material.

Content

The computer’s structure and operating system. Copyrights and the use of Open Access material. The diverse use of computer software tools (spreadsheet, word processing, presentation programme) and their joint use. Processing of large amounts of data. Spreadsheet lookup -functions, functions with multiple criterias wiht a large amount of data, form controls and creating macros. Creating material, the basics of photoshop and video editing.

Microsoft Office Online Help Articles, where applicable.

Teaching methods

You study the contents of the course in a group of 2-3 students. The contents of the course are studied through lectures. These skills are applied in groups of students. A joint textbook of the group is compiled from the contents and a broader course exercise is created.

Employer connections

The assignment can be done in collaboration to meet the needs of a small business.

Exam schedules

There is no exam for the course. The course has one actual evaluation phase and two additional evaluation phases.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

"1 (adequate) The student knows the computer hardware and also the significance of information security and copyrights. The student knows the possibilities of the joint use of applications and is able to make basic spreadsheets and documents and also knows the basics of photoshop. The student masters the basics of information retrieval with regard to computing problems.

2 (satisfactory) Along with aforementioned, the student knows how to perform simple spreadsheet searches. The student knows how to use mailing.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

3 (good) Along with aforementioned, the student knows how to jointly and diversely use Office applications. The student knows how to use search functions well and knows the basics of photoshop.

4 (very good) Along with aforementioned, the student knows how to plan and execute spreadsheet applications. The student knows how to use form controls and macros.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

5 (excellent) Along with aforementioned, the student knows how to use Office applications efficiently in entrepreneurship and is able to use them jointly in a diverse way.

The course is continuously evaluated on the basis of textbook assignments and continuous feedback is given to support the student's work. The exercise is evaluated as a whole.
