Objective

The students can compare and assess the usefulness of new technological solutions for agriculture in the present and in the near future.

Content

The prospects for the development of crop and livestock technologies, as well as farm information management perspectives.

Location and time

Studying according to BTI's schedule.

Materials

Some of the material needed for the assignments is published in the course workspace, but most of the required material can be found in the library or as electronic material online. You apply for the study material by the literature study and it is solved by the selected topics of the assignments.

Instructions and possible examples can be found on the tab of the current phase of the course, where short lectures and teasers supporting the preparation of assignments are also recorded. You can find the recordings and the remote link in the Recordings folder.

Teaching methods

Study at the course is based on the principles of project learning.
Working in groups between contact meetings makes up the majority of the course work (76%). In contact meetings (21%), the stage presentations of the assignments are dismantled, as well as the initial preparations for the following assignments are made and short presentations are given to support them.

The study trip is part of the completion of the course.

The group decides on the recordings of the assignments. The course has the possibility of distance education, but at least one of the group members must always be in a contact meeting at BTI presenting the group's output.

Further information

The course is completed as assessed learning assignments and includes a study trip.
There are four learning tasks a 'score 0-25 (max. 4*20 = 100 p)
Study Trip Travel Report (good / good) as a travel diary, which is published in Tarvaala's stories.
