Objective
EUR-ACE Knowledge and understanding: Student can analyze and develop purchasing as part of business development. Student understands the development potential both on operational and strategic level.
EUR-ACE Engineering analysis: Student can apply appropriate analyzing methods for current state analysis and decision making as well as for creating development plans.
EUR-ACE Investigations: Student recognizes different information systems in purchasing and when they are utilized.
Content
The main content will include
- systematic development of purchasing as part of the business development
- analyzing methods incl. spend-analysis, ABC-analysis, value analysis, tail management
- purchasing process development
- performance measurement in purchasing
- information systems in purchasing

Academic articles, studies and teaching videos are also utilized. Material is shared in the learning environment used in the course.

Qualifications
The students are able to find information independently, make basic excel calculation and to prepare reports. They have the basic knowledge of logistics processes and purchasing.
