Objective

The students understand the meaning of materials management and are able to manage and plan material flows and related information flows as part of the company's logistics process. Students understand the connection between company's internal materials management and the network in supply chain.
EUR-ACE Engineering Practice:
The students are creating practical engineering solutions to solve existing conflicts between good customer satisfaction and working capital. Students learn how to forecast demand, control inventory levels, determine capacity, choose right production strategy and level with different methods.
TELWM Logistics Professional skills:
Students will understand the importance of accurate planning and product data management as a part of Logistics Management.
YHTOP Learning skills:
The Case Work will create good basic for understanding the need for life-long learning.

Content

The content will include production planning, materials requirement planning, capacity management, purchasing, forecasting, inventory management, forwarding and collaboration in the supply chain.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient (1): Student has gained knowledge of course objectives but face challenges to utilize them in practice.

Satisfactory (2): Student has gained knowledge of course objectives and can utilize them partly in practice.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3): Student has gained understanding of course objectives and can utilize them in practice.

Very good (4): Student has attained very good level of course objectives and can apply them into practice.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): Student has attained an excellent level of course objectives and can apply them into practice in innovative manner.
