Objective
The student knows the principles of the most commonly used unlicensed wireless technologies. The student also understands the limitations of wireless technology and is able to understand the possible applications for each wireless technology. In addition, the student knows how wireless technologies can be placed in the radio spectrum and how wireless technologies add load to radio spectrum.
Content
The course content includes the most common wireless technologies, e.g. WiFi, ZigBee, RFID and Bluetooth. Principles, possible applications and limitations within each wireless technology are explored. In addition to common wireless technologies, unlicensed radio spectrum, operating principles of antennas and interference in unlicensed radio spectrum are explored within the course.
