Objectives
You will learn the basics of the Finnish language structure (past tense verbs, sentence structure, noun declination). You will be able to communicate in familiar everyday life situations (travelling, visiting doctor/nurse, dining in restaurants, housing). You will be able to express opinions and feelings in a simple way. You are introduced to the typical features of the Finnish communication culture and self-study methods.
You can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of the most immediate relevance. You can produce simple sentences related to familiar and routine matters. You can describe in simple terms aspects of matters in areas of immediate need.
Content
You will learn to
understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, traveling)

Teaching methods
In case the COVID-situation gets better in Finland and Jyväskylä, we will start in the course in classroom setting. Starting time is on Thursday 20.1. at 15.30 - 18.00, classroom G203.
In case that the COVID-situation is not better, will start the course with online teaching and learning in Zoom.
Lectures once a week on scheluded time, self-study, assignments.
