Objective

You should participate in this course after you have begun the Thesis process in your department and have already written at least three pages of the Knowledge base / Literature review section. The goal of this course is that you can identify your strengths/weaknesses and gather knowledge about formal academic text based on credible sources. You will also analyze the success of your text concerning adherence to APA guidelines and Jamk project reporting instructions.

Teaching methods

Opintojaksolle osallistutaan, kun opinnäytetyön lähdeaineistoon on tutustuttu ja tietoperustan kirjoittaminen on aktiivivaiheessa. Tämän varmistamiseksi palautat opintojakson aluksi 3 - 5 sivua opinnäytetyösi tietoperustaa ennen aloituswebinaaria. Vain sovitun tietoperustan palauttaneet opiskelijat jatkavat opintojaksolla. Opintojakson aikana tietoperustaa kirjoitetaan lisää, muokataan ja analysoidaan ohjatusti ryhmän kanssa yhteisellä aikataululla

ma 6.3. klo 12.00 mennessä tietoperustan palautus Moodleen
ti 7.3. klo 12.00-13.30 / Aloituswebinaari Zoomissa
ti 28.3. klo 12.00-13.30 / Webinaari Zoomissa
ti 25.4. klo 12.00-13.30 / Webinaari Zoomissa


Lisäksi vapaaehtoiset ohjauspalaverit verkossa.

Toteutus on tarkoitettu vain suomen kielellä opinnäytetyötään kirjoittaville. Englannin kielellä opinnäytetyön tekeville on tarjolla vastaava Thesis Writing -toteutus.

Orientoituminen ja työtilaan tutustuminen 5 h

Tehtävät opinnäytetyöhön liittyen 15 - 20 h

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The course will be marked with a ‘pass’ when all eight analysis templates have been completed successfully and the student has attended the final Show What You Know session.

Qualifications

Before registering for the Thesis Writing course, you should have already completed the Research and Development course (5 credits) and the Bachelor’s Thesis Plan (3 credits).
