Objective

Object of the course:
The knowledge and skills you get on this course you will need in the future in order to produce architectural drawings adequate to local plans using computer.

The learning objectives of the course:
You can tell the main principles of building legislation concerning local planning and building permission procedure. You know drawing symbols and you can produce the set of plans and documents for building approval in case of an ordinary building target. You can plan a residence as a functional wholeness part of zoned area. In addition to these basic tasks of the course you understand building in a historic perspective as parsed parts of local planning and structures.

Teaching methods

The course is divided into two parts: building design 3 credits and computer-aided documentation of building permit drawings 2 credits.

Building design

The course is implemented both as face-to-face teaching and partly as an online implementation. In face-to-face teaching of building design, the focus is primarily on guiding and going through practice tasks. The online lectures on the moodle platform are accessed independently according to the progress of the course. The course also requires self-directed work in addition to the weekly contact teaching hours.

Building block documentation

Own building design plans are documented with computer assistance. Implementation in guidance classes, where everyone works on their own plan.

Student workload

- independent work 107 h (includes working on own plan in the next few days, working on computer-assisted documentation)
- a total of 135 h

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Passable (1): The student recognizes all of the learning objectives, understands the meaning of them and is able to perform the basic tasks described in the learning objectives of the course.

Satisfying (2): In addition to previous skills, the student can systematically describe the issues of the course.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3): In addition to previous skills, the student can describe the influences of various solutions and can make reasoned choices between alternatives.

Laudable (4): In addition to previous skills, the student can apply the learned issues independently and is able to evaluate done solutions.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent ( 5 ): In addition to previous skills, the student shows deep knowledge of course contents as well as ability to parse and wider analyze the influences of solutions.
