Objective

Purpose
This course will introduce you to evidence-based nursing and how to use it in decision-making in nursing. In addition, you will understand the responsibilities of your own professional role in evidence-based nursing.

Outcomes
You know the basic concepts of nursing science as a starting point for nursing. You will be able to retrieve information from key nursing databases, summarize research information, and apply evidence-based knowledge and ethical principles in nursing in your learning assignment. You can present your evidence-based nursing competence with your assignments. You know how to document nursing as required by law. Familiarize yourself with the nursing decision-making process.

You understand the basics of utilizing evidence-based information. You understand the nursing process and are able to justify the most common documentation in nursing.
