Objective
In this course you will learn the basics of health promotion. The goals are that you can define health and health promotion, you are aware of health promotion at global level, and that you know basic elements of health promoting diet and physical activity.
Content
In this course you will get to familiarize yourself with key concepts of health and related phenomena.
You will learn about key concepts of health promotion and about national and international strategies for health promotion. You will get to know the recommendations for healthy nutrition and physical activity.

This is a nonstop course available in Moodle environment: https//moodle.jamk.fi .You can study in any location. You can join the course at any time and complete it according to your own schedule.

Materials are provided in the Moodle workspace of the course.
Teaching methods
Independent study in Moodle learning environment.
Exam schedules
The course tasks are evaluated 8 times a year, in the following weeks: 5, 11, 16, 22, 33, 38, 45 and 51.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Passed:
You are able to define the basics concepts of health and health promotion. You are aware of main risk factors for health. You are aware of how health is promoted at global level through programmes and strategies. You can recognize basic elements of health promoting diet and physical activity and is familiar with nutrition and physical activity recommendations.
Fail:
You do not show enough competence in the above stated areas.
