Objective
Purpose of the course:
After completing this course you will know the renewable energy part in Finnish energy system, and significance and possibilities in countryside environment. You understand the distribution of energy consumption to different use and ongoing shifts in development. You know modern and flexible energy systems in rural areas and the linkage to energy efficiency and circular economy. You know biogas production raw materials, production technology and utilization possibilities of final products.

You know the renewable energy sources and steering mechanisms, technologies and possibilities in energy supply of rural areas. You are familiar about the distribution of different energy use. You understand the interconnection of renewable energy to low-carbon and circular economy contexts. You understand solar energy and hybrid systems as part of the technical solutions in energy system. You know aspects, that have influence to efficiency and emissions of energy systems in rural areas.

The exam will be held towards the end of the course. The first renewal will take place in the spring of 2025 and the second renewal after the summer of 2025.
