Objective

The student understands the function of the building automation and recognizes its impact to the energy efficiency and indoor conditions. The student knows the technology, terminology and documentation used in the building automation field.

The student knows the most common systems, architectures, buses and integration solutions utilized in the building automation. The student is capable to design and implement small-scale building automation applications.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Adequate (1): The student knows the essential technology, terminology and documentation used in the building automation in general.

Satisfactory (2): The student knows the technology, terminology and documentation used in the building automation. Student is able to implement minor modifications to simple building automation applications and documents.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3): The student knows the most common fieldbuses and architectures utilized in the building automation systems. The student is capable to design and implement a simple application utilizing building automation system. The Student understands the function and the operational principle of the building management system. The student knows the contents of a typical building automation project and recognizes the interfaces to other subprojects and subcontracts.

Very good (4): ): The student masters essential aspects related to building automation systems and is capable to apply his/her knowledge in design and implementation of the building automation applications. The student understands the impact of various building automation solutions to the indoor conditions and energy efficiency.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): The student masters all essential aspects related to building automation systems and is capable to apply his/her knowledge in a creative and innovative way. The student has wide knowledge of information systems and buses used in the building automation.
