Objective

Design and surface modelling are an important part of product design. After completing the course, you will understand the key concepts of design and the basics of industrial design. You will learn to use the concepts and methods that are adapted in the course at a basic level in your own work. In addition to this, you will learn to recognize the industrial designer's job description and design requirements in machine design. You are able to handle the most common commands of the surface and hybrid modeling and are able to model parts that take into account design requirements.

Knowledge and understanding:
You understand the basics of surface modelling and industrial design.

Engineering practice:
You are able to apply the learned established methods to solve practical problems.

Content

3D surface modelling methods and hybrid modelling. Basics of industrial design. Industrial design as part of the development of products. The main principles and techniques of design.
Industrial design as part of the product development process. Service design.

Materials

Materials in the e-learning environment.

Teaching methods
