Objectives
User interfaces are essential parts of all machines and devices. After finishing the course, you will understand the basics of the design of user interfaces. You are able to consider the user's physical and mental qualities in user interface design, and can apply knowledge and skills to design work.
Knowledge and understanding:
Basics of user interface design.
Engineering practice:
You are able to apply practical methods to solve problems using established research methods.
Multidisclplinary competences:
You understand design and the importance of design in organizations.
Content
The basics of the UI design process, different user interfaces and their design
Learning materials and recommended literature
Materials in the e-learning environment.

Evaluation criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
Adequate (1): You identify the basic knowledge and terminology but can only sufficiently apply them to simple user interface design development tasks. You are able to complete the assessment tasks of user interface design, but you have difficulties in managing basic methods.
Satisfactory (2): You know the most common issues related to user interface design during the course and understand their purpose and methods. You are able to complete the assessment tasks of user interface design, but you have difficulties in managing more demanding methods.
Evaluation criteria, good (3-4)
Good (3): You are familiar with the most common methods and issues related to user interface design during the course, and you will understand their purpose. You are able to complete the course assignments, and you are also able to master more demanding methods discussed during the course.
Very good (4): You are familiar with the most of the methods and issues related to user interface design during the course, and you will understand their purpose. You are able to complete the course assignments, and you are also able to master more demanding methods discussed during the course and understand the theory behind them.
Evaluation criteria, excellent (5)
Excellent (5): You are familiar with the most of the methods and issues related to user interface design during the course, and you will understand their purpose. You are able to complete the course assignments, and you are also able to master more demanding methods discussed during the course nd understand the theory behind them. You are able to apply themes discussed during the course even in challenging situations innovatively.
