Content scheduling

The lectures will be held on a variety of topics. The student will complete learning assignments/exercises in accordance with the given schedule.

Objective

The students master the basic concepts and principles of procedural law. They are familiar with the essential regulations regarding the institution of proceedings, hearings and decisions, and their application to practice.

Content

Subject of trial, judgement theories, trial, presentation of evidence, court’s authority, processing applications, procedural remedies, appealing, specific types of processes and alternative settlement of conflicts, international procedural law, legal assistance

Teaching methods

The course will be completed by attending lectures that will be provided in online lectures (webinar) as well as by independently watching online lectures provided by external parties. In addition, the course includes learning assignments and exercises as well as classroom pair/group assignments.

Exam schedules

The final exam is on Moodle from 25 to 27 April 2025. The exam opens on Friday 25 April 2025 at 12:00 a.m. and closes on Sunday 27 April 2025 at 11:59 p.m. The first re-exam opens on Friday 9 May 2025 at 12:00 a.m. and closes on Sunday 11 May 2025 at 11:59 p.m. The second re-exam opens on Friday 16 May 2025 at 12:00 a.m. and closes on Sunday 18 May 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

More detailed information about the exam will be announced in Moodle in connection with the exam.

Student workload

The learning assignments will mainly consist of court cases related to the application of legislation and the preparation of documents. Two (2) weeks have been reserved for completing each learning assignment so that the assignment will open and close at a specified time.

Assessment is based on knowledge, skills and competence in accordance with the National and European Qualifications Framework, Level 6.

Further information

The pair/group assignments conducted or presented during the class will be reviewed and feedback will be received on them during the class, and they also involve self and peer assessment.
