Content scheduling

The course is implemented through weekly assignments. Workshops will take place approximately every 2-4 weeks.

Objective

Purpose of the course
The purpose of the course is to learn the principles of coaching and to learn how to apply them as part of wellbeing coaching in client work.

You will develop your knowledge of coaching and apply it in practice. You will evaluate and apply the coaching approach in relation to the knowledge base and practices in your profession. You will learn ways to support interaction and the different stages of coaching. You will be able to act professionally in interaction situations.

Content

The main content of the course is an introduction to the process and methods of coaching. The initial focus is on ways to build rapport, strengthen motivation and support interaction. Secondly, it will focus on goal setting, analysing the performance of the coachee and developing a client-centred action plan. Finally, it focuses on the application and generalisation of the plan in the daily life of the coachee.

Location and time

Teaching takes place online, independently and in scheduled workshops.

Teaching methods

During the course, you will study the theoretical part online. The teaching consists of interactive lecture videos and independent exercises. In addition, you will apply what you have learned in practical training situations and in webinar workshops supporting the training situation.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

You can describe what a coaching approach means. You can describe the key elements and stages of a coaching approach. Identify the factors that contribute to a successful coaching process. You will relate what you have learned to the knowledge base in your field and apply it to practical situations. You will be able to describe your own activities in relation to professional interaction situations and identify ways of supporting interaction.
