Objective

You will learn to understand the basics of electronics from the perspective of industry needs. You are familiar with the basic components and are familiar with resistors, capacitors, coils, diodes, transistors and operational amplifiers. You will learn to design simple basic circuits implemented with those components. You need this knowledge to outline functional entities in detail.

EUR-ACE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
You know the basics of using the basic components. You understand the operation of a transistor in actuator control and the principles of operating voltages.

Content

In this course, you will learn the basics of electronics from a practical perspective. You will get acquainted with basic components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, and operational amplifiers, and learn to design simple circuits using these components. This course provides you with the essential knowledge and skills to understand and implement functional systems in detail. You will also understand the use of transistors in actuator control and the principles of operating voltages.

basic components
design and dimensioning of a passive filter
use of a transistor as a switch
use of an operational amplifier for signal scaling

Teaching methods

Contact teaching consists of lectures, simulation exercises and practical laboratory exercises.
The course also includes remote calculation exercises and simulation exercises.

Exam schedules

Examination at the end of the course in late autumn 2024.
Two re-exams.

Completion alternatives

The admission procedures are described in the degree rule and the study guide. The teacher of the course will give you more information on possible specific course practices.

Student workload

One credit is calculated as an average of 27 hours of work, so a five-credit course has a workload of around 135 hours.
Lectures 40 h
Study of material 30 h
Practical work (simulations) 35 h
Distance assignments 20 h
Self-assessment and reflection 5 h
Examination and possible re-examinations 5 h
