Teaching methods

In face-to-face lessons on campus, we practice the basic skills of instructing children and people of working age in exercise, and learn about the principles of safe and goal-oriented exercise instructing. You learn basic skills through functional theory and practical exercises, and by instructing two short exercises for your own study group. You prepare well in advance for exercises and make a written plan. After the instructing, you will participate in a constructive peer feedback discussion.

You will lead physical education sessions for real groups of children and working-age people and you will deepen your own instructing skills and natural and professional contact with the group. You can carry out instructing for genuine customer groups alone or with a partner. You primarily acquire the customers to be instructing by yourself. You prepare for instructing sessions by making initial surveys of the groups to be instructed and goal-oriented training plans.

You video an approximately 15-minute compilation of instructing sessions for people of working age, and based on that, you get feedback from the teacher before the next instructing session.
