Content scheduling
The course is entirely online and consists of two modules.
The Moodle workspace will open at the beginning of the course. Introducing yourself in the Moodle workspace is also a sign of your participation in the course. The introduction must be done at the beginning of the course during the first two weeks.
Module 1: self-study and online exam 2 credits Module 2: 3 webinars and learning tasks (essays, peer assessment of essays, e-posters and self-assessment) 3 credits
Three full-day webinars.
1. Webinar: Wednesday, September 11th or Friday, September 13th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
2. Webinar: Wednesday, October 23rd or Friday, October 25th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
3. Webinar: Wednesday, November 27th or Friday, November 29th, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

The purpose of this course is to understand the meaning of research-based development and to get one's own toolkit for development activities

After completing this course, you will understand the difference between scientific research and research-based development. You understand the principles of research-based development and its methodological starting points. You know the process of research-based development. You master and are able to apply some working life development methods in development activities at your field of practice. You understand the importance of research ethics and good scientific practice in research-based development.

Three full-day webinars (9am-3pm), which are optional. The webinars will be recorded.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
You are able to compare the differences and similarities between research-based development and academic research. You are able to analyse development processes and methods suitable for your development topic, and reflect on and assess their suitability with the help of literature. You understand the significance of research ethics in research-based development. You can develop a topic proposal for your thesis.
