The course starts on January 15th and ends on April 28th 2024.
Voluntary webinars on Tuesday January 16th at 12-13.15 & on Tuesday March 12th at 12-13.15 at Zoom (https://jamk.zoom.us/j/6664089196).
Assignments on the course are divided into 5 sections. All assignments are compulsory if not adviced otherwise. You have approximately 2-3 weeks time to do the assignments of every section. At the end of every section there is a short exam.

Section 2: 2.9.-13.10.2024
Section 3: 7.10.-3.11.2024
Section 4: 28.10.-24.11.2024
Section 5: 28.10.-13.12.2024
There is a short exam in the course´s Moodle environment after every section of the course.
Retakes: Contact the teacher. The teacher will provide you with alternative dates for the retake.
Retakes must be performed no later than during the autumn semester 2024.
Objective
In the course you will revise the basics of Swedish. The course will help you pass your compulsory Swedish studies.
After completing this course, you will be able to communicate understandably in Swedish in familiar situations, both orally and in writing. You will gain command of basic vocabulary and grammar and know how to apply them in different communication situations. You will understand Swedish texts that are related to familiar topics. You will be able to write and talk about everyday topics.
Content
You will study themes related to free time and working life. You will revise the basic structures and vocabulary of Swedish and practice using them in oral and written communication. You will read and write texts in Swedish related to free time and working life and practice oral communication in everyday situations.

In distance learning implementation you will study independently in an online learning environment by watching videos, reading materials and doing assignments. You will receive personal feedback from the teacher on voluntary learning assignments which you return to Moodle learning environment.

The course is 5 ECTS credits which is equivalent to 135 hours of student work.
Work load in this implementation 9,5 hours per week (the course lastst for 14 weeks).
Face-to-face learning:

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Approved
You are able to communicate understandably both orally and in writing in familiar situations. You understand clear speech and writing with familiar content. You have a reasonable command of the basic structures of the language. Your vocabulary is sufficient for everyday situations. The level of your pronunciation is sufficient for the delivery of content.
Failed
Your performance does not meet the criteria for passing the course.
Qualifications
You know the basics of Swedish, but your language skills are below Level B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR, https://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/sites/default/files/cefr-en.pd f).
