Objective
Purpose of the course
The aim of the course is to learn about the principles of coaching and to understand its potential in client work.
Learning objective of the course
After the course you will be able to explain the main concepts and working principles of the coaching approach. You will be able to compare this approach with practices in your own field and illustrate how it could be used in client work.
Content
The main content of the course is the processes and methods of the coaching approach. You will focus on ways to build rapport, strengthen motivation and support interaction. You will learn how to set goals, analyse the performance of the coachee and develop an action plan in a client-centred way. You will focus on the application and generalisation of the plan in the daily life of the client.
Location and time
You work online according to your own schedule. Practical exercises can be designed and scheduled to suit you, in the environment of your choice.
Teaching methods
The course is a non-stop online course. You study independently according to your own schedule. The online course includes classroom recordings, a variety of activating materials and web-based exercises in Moodle. Some of the tasks require the application of theory in practice. At the end, your knowledge will be tested in an exam.

You know what a coaching approach means. You can explain the key elements and stages of a coaching approach. You will identify the factors that contribute to a successful coaching process and illustrate how it can be applied in client work. You will compare what you have learned with the knowledge base in your field and consider how it can be applied to practical situations. You will be able to describe your own activities in relation to professional interaction situations and identify ways of supporting interaction.
