Objective

Purpose of the course

After completing the course, you will know the types of feed and feed legislation. You can interpret feed analysis and prepare a feeding plan. You know the key feeding technology. You know the basic principles, breeding programs, objectives and indices of animal breeding.

Learning objective of the course

After completing the course, you will be familiar with the physiological requirements of animals in terms of feeding and forage. You will understand the potential of breeding and the ethical challenges to animal welfare. You know the potential of technology to implement responsible animal production.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Avoid 1:
After completing the course, you will understand the importance of feed and feeding planning for animal production and welfare. You will understand the impact of animal breeding on animal production and welfare. You understand ethics in animal production.

Satisfactory 2:
You know how to apply your feed and feeding skills in different situations and are able to choose the best options. You are able to apply breeding methods in practical situations and take ethical perspectives into account.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3:
You can analyze the impact of the feeds you use and the feeding you plan on production and well-being. You are able to analyze the effects of breeding on animal material. You can analyze the ethics of animal production.

Laudable 3:
You are able to evaluate feed and feeding planning expertly and identify all the factors that affect an animal's well-being. You are able to assess the effects of breeding on production and animal welfare also from ethical perspectives.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent 5:
You know how to create new options for feeding planning and feed use. You are able to create a breeding plan that takes the animal, conditions and production into account, which also meets the requirements of ethics.
