Objective

You can do initial inspections for the electrical installations. Studying in this course requires basic knowledge of electrical engineering. Initial inspections guarantee the good quality of well-designed and implemented electrical installations.

EUR-ACE ENGINEERING PRACTICE
You can plan and implement initial inspections in a systematic and safe manner, as well as analyze and report the results of inspections.

EUR-ACE INVESTIGATIONS
You know how to plan and implement inspections and tests. You will be able to interpret the documentation related to the installations, other input data, measurement results, as well as assess the compliance of the implementation and work in the hardware environment safely and in accordance with good practices.

Teaching methods

This course consists of tasks in a learning environment and commissioning checks in a laboratory environment.

Exam schedules

The course includes exercises related to understanding the theory and performing commissioning inspections of electrical installations in buildings.

The procedures for admission are described in the Degree Regulations and the Study Guide. The course tutor will provide further information on any specific procedures for the course.

The total calculated workload for a student is 54 hours of coursework.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

To pass this course you need to understand the requirements for initial inspections of electrical installations. You also know what kind of operations are involved in inspections and testing. You are able to plan and implement commissioning inspections of electrical installations systematically and taking into account good practices and electrical work safety. You can create and analyze reports of initial inspections.

Self-assessments are mainly done through learning tasks. The assessment decision is based on the competence demonstrated in the exercises. All course assignments must be completed in order to receive a pass.
