Objective
The object of this course:
In this course you will learn to recognise the strategic targets of the organisation and procurement. You identify the cost, risk and value in purchasing management. In addition you begin to understand the Basic tools of purchasing management and recognise the impact of purchasing to the organisations sustainability targets.

Teaching methods
The course is delivered online, so learning will take place independently through literature and online teaching materials.
Each topic will include a related learning assignment. Learning assignments may include interactive components.
Exam schedules
The course includes an Exam, which can be taken according to your own schedule at the end of the course. The exam can be retaken, but the result of the retake will be final.
Student workload
Self-study, learning assignments and exam totaling 135 hours (27 hours per credit).

They understand cost, risk and value in purchasing management, how to use them and their affect to each other. In addition, they understand the basic tools of purchasing management.
4. Student understands the role of different strategies to a business, and knows how to apply the organisational strategy to purchasing strategy. They manage cost, risk and value in purchasing management. In addition, they can apply the basic tools of purchasing management.

Qualifications
The basics of purchasing. Student is able to find information idependently and to prepare reports. They have basic knowledge of the logistics processes.
Further information
The course has a three-week rule. This means that the assignment announced at the beginning of the course must be completed within three weeks of the course start date. If the assignment is not completed, the student's enrollment will be canceled.
A successfully completed course is graded on a scale of 1-5. A passing grade requires that each learning assignment is completed at an acceptable level, the exam is taken, and at least 50% of the total course points are achieved.
