Content scheduling

Let's start with lectures, after the Autumn break laboratory work and lectures

Objective

Familiarize yourself with the valves and actuators used in hydraulics and their operation. Studying in this course requires basic knowledge in the field of technology and this course enables more in-depth study of the topic in other courses.

Knowledge and understanding: You are familiar with the theory of hydraulics and have key knowledge of basic hydraulic equipment solutions and the various application areas of hydraulics. You can use mathematics and physics to describe the phenomena in hydraulic technology and to solve problems.

Content

Basics of hydraulics. Hydraulic actuators, pressure valves, flow valves and directional control valves. Hydraulic system design and simulation.

Location and time

Lecture space/ Teams, Laboratory dp72

Materials

The material can be found on Moodle

Teaching methods

Lectures, exercises, laboratory work

Exam schedules

An exam at the end of the study period at a time to be agreed later. Two resit possibilities. You can try to renew an approved grade once.

Completion alternatives

No alternative methods of execution

Student workload

You need about 3-5 hours per week for studying

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Adequate (1): You recognize the basics and terminology, but you have shortcomings in perceiving the key issues.

Satisfactory (2): You know the basics and terminology, but you have shortcomings in applying the key things.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3): You identify hydraulic components and can interpret hydraulic diagrams.

Very good (4): You master the key issues and know how to apply them in a variety of different implementations.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): You master the key things and know how to apply them creatively.

Qualifications

The students understand the operation, use and design of a pneumatic system in automation applications. The students understand the basics of control systems, sensors and their connection.

Further information

Assignments must be returned on time. The first assignment must be returned three weeks after the start of the study period. If the assignment has not been returned within that three week period, the student will be removed from the course.
